The Road

Sometimes the night is so dark and lonely,
and the road so long.

I drive through the rain,
not enough to pour,
just a cold drizzle,
messing up the view,

and think to myself,
how nice it would be
to have some one to talk to, sing with.

And everytime I think it might work,
and every time I think I see the light on the horizon,
it's not the "one",

and the light is a set of headlights
going by on the other  side of the divided highway.

So I pray, and scream at the sky,
and tell God,
(ask God)
to send me my someone.

I wonder, am I not looking hard enough?
I wonder, is there something wrong with me?
Too tall, too big, not pretty enough, too weird?

And then I remember that love
doesn't care about those things,
love is a heart-thing, not a head-thing.

So, I keep going on,
sometimes searching,

sometimes, just enjoying the ride,
lookin' at the scenery.
